Landmarks, Lakes, Rivers

  • Lake Erie: Most of the water that flows into Lake Erie flows through a small River, the Detroit River, that moves water down from Lake St. Clair past Detroit and Windsor. The lake is very well known as having a very high number of shipwrecks due to its shallow depths. Known as a Smallmouth Bass and Walleye factory with a Yellow Perch commercial fishery.

  • Lake St. Clair: The Muskellunge Factory. Trolling or shore casting for these true Giants in Spring and Fall. Huge fish are pulled consistently from this lake. Hold on to your poles!

  • Niagara River: On the Canadian side of the river the provincial agency Niagara Parks Commission maintains all of the shoreline property, including Fort Erie, except the sites of Fort George (a National Historic site maintained federally by Parks Canada), as a public greenspace and environmental heritage. Many important battles were fought in her waters during the War of 1812.
