Landmarks, Lakes, Rivers

  • Lake Ontario: the easternmost of the Great Lakes and the smallest in surface area, although it exceeds Lake Erie in volume. It is the 13 largest lake in the world. When its islands are included, the lake's shoreline is 712 miles (1,146 km) long.

  • Bay of Quinte: the name "Quinte" is derived from "Kenté" or Kentio, an Iroquoian village located near the south shore of the Bay.The Bay, as it is known locally, provides some of the best trophy Walleye angling in North America as well as most sport fish common to the great lakes.

  • St. Lawrence River: The river drains water from the Great Lakes into the Atlantic Ocean. It is more than three thousand Kilometers long and houses some of the biggest Muskellunge on the Planet. The Thousand Islands region has true monsters stalking her shores. Fish over 50” are consistently pulled from her waters. Not for the faint hearted or impatient angler.
